One day after Intel and Alcatel announced a merger Maemo platform and Moblin Linux to become MeeGo, surprisingly Motorola has just been confirmed as GW990 Sony Ericsson’s first mobile phone based on Intel’s Moorestown platform which will move into MeeGo.
Submitting the English language was very limited indeed at that time, making it difficult to get more details. However, current mobile phones operate at the GW990 has Moblin operating system, so it makes sense if there is a mention that these mobile phones to be one of the first MeeGo in the world.
What is clear is GW990 LG phone is scheduled to be released in Korea in the second half of this year 2010, and Motorola seems to have plans to the United States so far. Then if the device is based Nokia N900 Maemo will switch into MeeGo, and whether Intel and Motorola are promising change?, we’ll see.
